Hi Dream Illustration! I'm a beginner translator interested in voluntarily localizing your game into Brazilian Portuguese (PT-BR). If you're interested, I would love to help :)
I really enjoyed Desanctify, and since I’ve played and liked the developer’s previous game, Patintero, I was excited to try this one as well. The concept is interesting and the mechanics are simple and easy to understand. However, I did run into a few hiccups during my playthrough that I wanted to share as feedback.
The main issue I experienced was performance. After pressing play, the game felt quite slow and a bit unoptimized on my system, even though my setup can usually run most games without problems. Patintero didn’t have this issue for me, so I was a little surprised.
I also didn’t realize there was a LITE version of the game and ended up playing the other version until I finished it, so that might have affected my experience as well.
Here are some of the issues I personally encountered:
The game ran quite slowly on my system and felt a bit unoptimized.
The objectives disappear very quickly. As someone who sometimes forgets the current task, it would help if they stayed on screen a little longer. Maybe add like a TAB key for the objectives to appear again?
A waypoint marker or simple indicator showing where to go next could make navigation easier.
Sprinting without the wheelbarrow could maybe be a little faster.
Near the end of the game, the wheelbarrow became invisible. The collider was still there (I could still place a trash bag on it), but the model itself disappeared.
Overall, I’d give the game 6.8 out of 10 Bones. I really like the idea behind it and appreciate the effort that went into making it. Thank you to Dream Illustration for developing the game, and I hope some of these small issues can be addressed in a future update!
That's a very detailed and full of effort feedback 😃 Thank you so much Murushi! thanks for playing!
I already updated the game.
I just played the updated version, and it feels much more optimized now. All of the issues I experienced in the first version seem to be fixed. Great work, dev!
I also had a few small suggestions that might help polish the experience even further if you ever decide to expand on it:
Gameplay
At the beginning of the game, maybe there could be a subtle sound cue (like rustling leaves) where the couple is. New players might miss that interaction the first time, so a small audio hint could help guide them.
Sprinting could potentially be available by default. Since it’s currently only used once, having it available throughout the game might make movement feel a bit more consistent. Make it where if the player is not holding the wheelbarrow or any trash bag, they can sprint but if they're holding something, the sprint is turned off.
The ending might feel a little more satisfying with a small payoff or conclusion before returning to the main menu, perhaps a short explanation or closing moment.
When the little girl appears, it might be interesting if the camera briefly draws attention to her so players notice the moment before the dialogue starts.
Sound Effects
Flashlight on/off sound.
Picking up trash bags sound.
Placing trash bags onto the wheelbarrow sound.
Overall, I really enjoyed the updated version, and it feels like a big improvement over the first release. Nice work!
